Shenandoah River, VA (6-18-16)

Location: Front Royal, VA – South Fork of Shenandoah
Result: 25+ Smallmouth Bass
Set-up: Fly Rod & Spinning Rod
Lures: Streamers and Crank Baits

The gorgeous day on the Shenandoah brought out a lot of people, but it did not slow down the fishing. While some of my favorite spots had presumably been run through by fellow fishermen and those out for recreation, my buddy and I still managed to land 20-30 smallmouth. In line with my expectations for this time of year – the majority of the fish were small, but we did have four or five 1-2 lb. Smallies mixed in.

Enough text, check the video below. Watch through to the fight at the end to understand why people describe smallmouth as “angrier” than largemouth.
